Snowpiercer

Through the Snow is a post-apocalyptic thriller by South Korean director Pon Joon Ho, based on the French graphic novel "Transperceneige" by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette.  The premiere in South Korea took place on August 1, 2013. By the overwhelming majority of representatives of the film press, he was recognized as one of the best films of 2014 (in which he was widely released), awarded a number of awards — mainly for the scenery and acting work of Tilda Swinton.
In 2014, scientists launched a process designed to stop global warming on Earth by spraying the chemical CW-7 in the atmosphere, but the process got out of control, and eventually the Ice Age came. Seventeen years later, the world is shackled by ice and snow, and all this time a long express, launched by the railroad magnate Wilford (Ed Harris), is rushing non-stop along the round-the-world railway. About two or three thousand people took refuge on this train. But, as in the big world, passengers on the train are divided by social classes. Former strongmen of the world or those who were once lucky go closer to the locomotive. They are well provided for, they have good food, service and entertainment. In the tail cars, poor people travel, who feed only on protein plates produced from insects.
From time to time there were uprisings on the train, but each time they were drowned in blood by Wilford's soldiers and members of the train crew. However, the poor do not give up. The old man Gilliam (John Hurt) and the young man Curtis (Chris Evans), analyzing the behavior and conversations of the train crew workers, come to the conclusion that the soldiers squandered their ammunition during the suppression of previous uprisings and walk with unloaded weapons. Soon there is an event that has become the cause of another uprising: an assistant to the head of the train comes from the first cars and takes several small children with her. The father of one of them, trying to prevent, launches an assistant in the head with his shoe. For this, the soldiers grab the man and pull his hand into a special hole outside the train. The hand turns into a kind of icicle, and it is defiantly smashed with a hammer. At the next distribution of food, Curtis provokes one of the soldiers to shoot himself, even pulls the trigger for him, but the shot should not be fired, since the carbine is not loaded, and this gives the signal to start a riot.
