American Siege (2021)

Working in law enforcement, the main character retired. But I couldn't sit around at home for a long time, so I decided to become the sheriff of Georgia. In the future, earning savings in this way, he followed the local events, tried to keep the population safe. But I did not suspect that misfortune would happen on the next day. A gang of thieves attacked a former doctor who lives in his mansion all alone. Trying to find out the reasons for this attack, the sheriff went to the criminals, and they did not even let him on the threshold, threatening violence. They demand that he solve a ten-year-old crime regarding the death of a girl. This person is interested in her sister, who is in a criminal gang.

The ultimatum has been put into action. If the sheriff does not find information in time who killed this young lady, then there will be no doctor, and he will be pieced together by forensic experts. The main character goes in search of assistants. He enlists the support of a young officer, and later even went to his former superiors. It turned out that he knows a lot about the dead girl, but does not want to tell the truth. He hides this information and tells him not to mind his own business, but simply to eliminate the villains and free the doctor from danger.
